Taking the Stage at the All Candidates Meeting: See You at the Opera House!
I’m excited to confirm that I’ll be taking the stage for the upcoming Gravenhurst All Candidates Meeting, hosted by the Muskoka Lakes Association (MLA). With the municipal election right around the corner, this is a huge opportunity for all of us to cut through the noise, talk about the future of Gravenhurst, and dig into the real challenges facing our town over the next four years.
I’ll be sharing our practical vision for Ward 1: protecting our shorelines and lake health, getting real sidewalks built on James Street, and breathing new four season life into our downtown and Wharf. Most importantly, once the formal debate wraps up, I won’t be rushing out the back door; I’ll be hanging out right in the Opera House lobby to chat one on one, listen to your concerns, and answer any questions you have.
“Forums like this are the true backbone of local democracy. It isn’t just about delivering prepared lines under bright stage lights; it’s about being accountable to the folks who live and work here. I’m ready to lay out our common sense approach and talk with you face to face afterward.”Gordie Merton
The meeting is set for Saturday, August 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Gravenhurst Opera House. Admission is completely free, everyone across Ward 1 and our whole town is welcome, and I’d love to see a packed house. Come out, bring your tough questions, and let’s keep this conversation going!
